An important news for our research on the CMT2A
17 July 2024
We would like to share with you an important news for our research on the CMT2A.
Among the winners of the Multi-Round Call of Telethon Foundation there is the research project “Treating CMT2A: MFN1 Gene Enhancement as a Therapeutic Strategy” (MFN1 gene modulation as a therapeutic strategy for CMT2A) coordinated by Professor Stefania Corti of the University of Milan and supported by our association.
The study will focus on finding a possible treatment for CMT2A through a gene therapy strategy based on modulation of the MFN1 gene.
“We believe that this research can significantly contribute to our collective understanding of the disease and potentially break new ground for future therapies. We think this grant is a great opportunity to advance CMT2A research for the benefit of all patients and their families” Professor Corti said when she gave us the great news.
We would like to congratulate Professor Corti and all her team, in particular Dr Federica Rizzo.
Thank you all for your precious work.
