TOGETHER AGAINST CMT: 1st European Charcot-Marie-Tooth Specialists Conference

The European CMT Federation (ECMTF), the federation that brings together all the CMT support groups in Europe, is carrying out a very ambitious project: creating a network of experts (doctors, researchers, physiotherapists etc.) that combine their knowledge and their efforts to collaborate together in the research and treatment (and hopefully one day the cure) of Charcot Marie Tooth.
To achieve this goal, the 1st European CMT Specialists’ Conference will be held on 9-10 June 2023 in Paris.
“We feel that it is the right time to organize such an event since rare diseases are high on the agenda of European politics and the health policy of the former, the acting and the coming EU Presidency. We all know that CMT is one of the most frequent rare diseases, and our approach to stimulating structured cooperative research on CMT promises to be a welcomed contribution to the general health policy efforts on rare diseases”.
The Conference will take place at the Hotel Holiday Inn “Paris Bastille”, while the gala dinner on Friday evening will be held at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine, professor Jean-Martin Charcot’s (the renowned physician and scientist who first described and gave the name to the CMT disease) residence in Paris. We invite our patients, our doctors and all young researchers to participate. Only united against disease can we win!
